New to desert safaris? You are in the right place. A safari is a trip into the desert that can combine a dune drive, outdoor activities and a camp visit. Explore the three parts below to see what to expect.
You join from your hotel or an agreed meeting point, depending on the package. The journey may include a driver-led 4x4 ride over the dunes, called dune bashing. This is one part of the outing, not the full tour duration.
Before choosing, confirm your pickup point, time in the dunes and whether a gentler drive is available.You may stop for photographs, try sandboarding or take a short camel ride. Quad bikes and dune buggies offer a different riding experience and may cost extra. The activity list and time allowed depend on your chosen safari.
Look for the activity name, session length and any extra charge, not just the word "included".No. A shorter morning safari may finish after the desert activities. An evening safari may continue to a camp for BBQ dinner and shows. Shared seating, reserved tables and waiter service are different arrangements, so check the details.

Licensed drivers take a 4×4 over the dunes as one session inside a longer day of transfers, stops, activities, camp and dinner. The total tour length is not bashing time.

Our home ground
Closer to the city, desert sand runs pale gold and the dunes stay low. Drive east toward Lahbab and both change: iron-rich sand turns a deep red, and the dunes rise into taller ridges with wide open bowls between them.
That scale is why Lahbab suits dune driving — there is room to choose a line for the group in the car, from full bashing to a slow scenic crossing — and why photographers chase it: red sand holds sunset light long after pale dunes wash out.
The trade is distance: around 45–60 minutes from central Dubai, which is exactly what keeps the convoys thinner and the evenings quieter.

Most of our desert experiences — evening and morning safaris, private journeys and quad/buggy adventures — run on the Lahbab red dunes. Exceptions are labelled on their pages: the Mleiha safari (Mleiha, Sharjah) and creek cruises (Dubai Creek).
Evening camps are set near the dunes to cut transfer time, but the exact camp varies by night and group size. Not every Dubai safari takes place in Lahbab — if the location matters to you, confirm the actual desert and camp on WhatsApp before booking. We will answer precisely.

An evening camp can bring together a welcome, cultural activities, food and time to relax. Use this guide to understand the options; your package determines what is included.
Arabic coffee (gahwa) and dates may be offered on arrival. Ask whether refreshments continue through the evening.
Compare shared buffet dining, reserved tables and private setups. Check the menu, vegetarian options and the seating actually reserved for you.
Some seating upgrades offer food or drinks served at your table. Reserved seating alone does not necessarily include waiter service.
A designated shisha area and shisha brought to your table are different arrangements. Confirm availability, age restrictions and any separate charge.
Henna designs may be available at the camp. Ask what design is included and whether larger designs cost extra.
Traditional clothing or headscarves may be available for photographs. Check whether dressing assistance, photography or printed pictures carry a charge.
A short camp-side camel ride differs from a longer camel trek. Confirm the duration, location and any upgrade price.
Some camps have souvenir stalls or photo displays. Shopping is optional; purchases and printed photographs are usually separate from the safari price.
Before you choose: ask what is included, what is shared, and what costs extra. A private vehicle does not automatically mean a private camp or table.
